Pulido Transport Remembers Martin Luther King, Jr.

Pulido Transport remembers the leader of the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King, Jr. on this day.  Through his use of nonviolent civil disobedience, King advanced civil rights and, for his efforts, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize,  Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal.  His efforts resulted in advancing the ideals of America found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.

It’s good to remember on this day some of King’s wise words:

  • “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. …
  • “I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.” …
  • “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” …
  • “Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”
  • “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

In these days, it is especially good to also remember Colossians 3:12-13, “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
